Description
Presented is a fine quality English sterling silver stuffing or platter spoon from 1825. The handle has a monogram of BMB in elegant script. The spoon would have been used for serving stuffing etc and would be completely useable for any similar purpose today. This is a quite large and long handled spoon, very well constructed of heavy silver, and it would be an asset to any table or collection.The reverse of the handle is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for London, the date letter k for 1825, the King George III bust duty mark, and the maker's mark for John, Henry & Charles Lias.
The spoon is in excellent condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The spoon is approximately 12 inches long.
The spoon weighs 127.7 grams.
