Description

Presented is a great English Georgian sterling silver creamer, dated 1798. The
creamer is done in a handsome, classical form, with panels of vertical fluted
decoration around the side. The creamer has a reeded design around the rim,
midpoint, and along the handle, and the handle terminates in an acanthus leaf
design where it joins the body of the creamer. The creamer is clean and ready
for use or display, and in wonderful condition considering its age of over 200
years.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents,
no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling
silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter C for
1798, King George III's head duty mark, and a maker's mark that is partially
obscured by wear, possibly EC for Ebenezer Coker.
The creamer stands about 4 3/4 inches tall.
This piece weighs 140 grams or 4.9 regular ounces.
